A Cheeky Girl’s Night Out

It’s a rare feat when twelve busy, city girls are able to coordinate a night on the town. Between full time jobs, co-chairing, writing, hosting, and well, you get it; there’s always something on the agenda. But when Dove approached Cheeky and encouraged us to host a Girl’s Night Out in honor of one of their new products – Dove Visibly Smooth deodorant (which is pretty fab) – we gladly accepted and agreed that this was a great opportunity to round up a group of girlfriends and catch up.

The goal was simple: host a dinner party (complimentary and courtesy of Dove) at a restaurant of our choice, chronicle the night with a Flip Cam (also graciously bestowed upon us by Dove), and enjoy.

“Fine,” we said. “Twist our arm, why don’t ya.”

We settled on one of our favorite restaurants: Mercadito.  A River North hot spot for south-of-the-border cuisine, it’s a perfect place for a girl’s night. We ordered a variety of small plates and shared across the table.  We nibbled on three varieties of tacos (shrimp avocado was our fav)e, dipped into three variations of guacamole, and sipped on rounds of margaritas (love the smoky pablo with mango). The Latin fusion cuisine complemented the upbeat conversations and amidst the ooo’s and ahh’s of a friends’ recent engagement, it was clear that nights like this don’t happen often.

It’s this insight that inspired Dove to serve as a catalyst for bringing girls together. Hint: don’t just wear jeans and a T-shirt; spice it up!

After eating, drinking, toasting, and chatting, all of our guests walked away with a sample of Dove Visibly Smooth Wild Rose to try at home.

Oh, and one more perk…we were chauffeured in a limo, adding a little glitz and glamour to our girl’s night and sending us home in style.
