No Bull, All Goodwill

Sip on Cocktails in Support of Haiti

by stephanie miller

This month, dip into your fortunate pockets and sip and sample food and drinks in support of Haiti. There are several ways for Chicagoans to participate in the goodwill efforts that are underway.

Next Thursday, February 4, Bull & Bear (431 N. Wells St.) is joining forces with Unicef to help raise funds. From 3-6 pm, order any appetizer or short order (both are already half off during this happy hour time) and have the option to donate the money to Unicef.  And from 6-8 pm, donate $20 to the relief efforts and you’ll receive complimentary drinks and appetizers.

For more info on how you can contribute to the cause, please visit www.UnicefUSA.org.

And for those inclined to drink and dine on the North side, swing by Sola (3868 N. Lincoln Ave.) where they’re giving guests a little “Rum Relief” for Haiti. Order Sola’s Rum Relief cocktail (a mix of Barcardi, Malibu Rum, Myers’s Dark, pineapple juice, orange juice, and guava puree over ice) – it’s $10, but $5 of it will go to the Haiti relief fund.  It’s a way to get a taste of the Caribbean and donate to a good cause.

Visit www.sola-restaurant.com for more information and to check out Chef Carol Wallack’s drool-worthy dining room menu.

This Saturday, Jan. 30, from 7-10 pm at Duffy’s (420 W. Diversey Pkwy.), drink packages will be sold and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross to support their relief efforts in Haiti. Prizes will also be raffled off; 100% of the proceeds from raffle sales will be donated to the American Red Cross.

Are you involved in any personal or professional relief efforts for Haiti? Simply leave a comment to this post below. After all, giving is trés cheeky.
